Generations Cup

The Generations Cup sees nearly 400 players from all over Glasgow and the West compete across three days to crown one hockey club the "Best in the West".

What is it?

The Glasgow Generations Cup sees the premier clubs in the area compete across five divisions to establish an overall champion.

Held over the course of a weekend, the Glasgow Generations Cup kicks off with the mixed U16s event on Friday evening, showcasing the best juniors each club has to offer. This is followed up on Saturday with the Men’s Elite and District competitions featuring some of the top teams in the country. The event is closed on Sunday with the Elite Ladies’ and District competition.

How does it work?

Simply put, a winner is crowned in each division, and the club with the most points across all five competitions will be crowned the overall winner of the Glasgow Generations Cup.

Matches are short format, 25 - 35 minutes depending on age group, encouraging attacking hockey from the start of each match. There are four points available for a win, two for a draw and zero for a loss.
