Western Lettings Glasgow Generations Cup - Sunday Preview

The final day of the 2019 Western Lettings Glasgow Generations Cup is almost upon us.

The Ladies competition is a new addition for 2019 and is set up to be a cracker! All five clubs are competing in this event and results will be crucial to the destination of the overall Glasgow Generations Cup. 

Uddingston arrive with a new coaching team and will be looking to set down a marker ahead of National 2 getting underway in a few weeks. Harry Dunlop and Adam McInnes will be looking to test their players against three top division sides. Hillhead Ladies also have themselves a new coach with Hillhead legend Andrew Hilton taking the reins. 

Clydesdale Western and Western Wildcats will be aiming for top spot and the lunchtime fixture should prove to be a cracking match up. 

The Over 35s event offers something a little bit different with Watsonians and Perthshire stepping in to fill the gaps left by Western Wildcats and Clydesdale. While the overall trophy will be out of reach as they are competing in just one event - they could both make a charge for the Over 35s individual trophy. 

Hillhead will be looking gain valuable points here with a number of Masters internationalists in the squad from various age groups.

The action on both pitches starts at 10.30am!

Rules

Elite and O35s matches last 30 minutes – one way. There are ten minutes between matches to allow for an on pitch warm up. 

This year there are 4 points available for a win, 2 points for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

However, in the event of a points tie the following will decide position:

  • Goal difference
  • Goals scored
  • H2H result
  • Sudden death penalty strokes
