Scottish Hockey Statement

In light of the recent advice from government and health experts regarding COVID-19, Scottish Hockey has suspended the use of traditional handshakes between opposition players; coaches; umpires and officials across all league and cup competitions.

We would request that you instruct all players; coaching staff and officials ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.

Please follow advice to reduce risk by maintaining good hygiene steps such as washing hands frequently and thoroughly after coughing; going to the toilet; and before eating and drinking; as well covering your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with disposable tissues.

For more information and advice on COVID-19, please read the following webpages:

We are grateful for your co-operation as we take a common sense approach by following advice and procedures.

Hillhead Hockey Club Statement

In the interests of everyone at Hillhead's health, please be conscientious of those around you and refer yourself to the guidance above, whether or not you are showing any symptoms, particularly if you have travelled abroad or work in healthcare.

For the avoidance of doubt, if you are self-isolating from work you must also be self-isolating from training and matches. It will not penalise your future selection. If we have a valid concern that you are not taking the appropriate steps in the interest of your fellow club members then we may ask you to leave training or matches.
