Hillhead 1s vs Gordonians 1s – 3.30pm @ Countesswells – National League 1

Hillhead will reflect fondly on their previous encounter with Saturday’s opponents back in September. The Hornets started strong and eventually ran out 11-0 victors against a struggling Gordonians with Graeme Campbell finding the net on five occasions. The Aberdeen side find themselves rooted to the bottom of the table nine points behind Kelburne and will be looking to secure their first points of the season against Hillhead this weekend.

However, Hillhead are in good form following victories over Clydesdale and Kelburne in recent weeks. The Hornets are keen to consolidate their league position and have prepared well for what could be a tough game on Saturday. There are no new injury concerns ahead of the weekend and Mark Ralph’s side will be looking to claim three points to keep up the pressure on Grove Menzieshill who currently hold 3rd position in National 1.

Hillhead will be encouraged by exceptional defensive performances from Michael Sherry and Stuart Allan in recent weeks which has provided a platform for others to shine but will have to guard against complacency with Gordonians fighting for survival in the top division.

Hillhead 2s vs Kelburne 2s – 1.30pm @ Old Anniesland (Water) – Regional League 1

The 2s host Kelburne 2s at Old Anniesland in the early afternoon fixture as they look to close the gap to league leaders Edinburgh University 2s. Hillhead secured an overtime victory over Clydesdale last weekend but will ideally make it less stressful for dedicated Hornets supports on Saturday. However, with every match in Regional League 1 expected to be a tough game, they will have to be at their best to get a result on Saturday.

The previous encounter was close with Hillhead battling to a 4-3 victory over the Paisley side at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre. The 2s have plenty of talent in their squad including a trio of Hiltons and never disappoint going forward averaging just over 3 goals a game this season.

Hillhead 3s vs Uddingston 3s – 3pm @ Old Anniesland (Water) – West District Division 1

Jonny Duke’s development team continue to go from strength to strength and could face a strong Uddingston side this weekend as the title race heats up in West District 1. The previous meeting between these two sides finished 4-2 to Hillhead with Colin Gallacher notching his 99th, 100th and 101st goals for the club in that match, a fantastic achievement. Colin could find himself partnered with former strike partner Josh Phillips who makes a welcome return after completing two training sessions this week!

Uddingston 3s lost to their 2s 5-1 last weekend so it is hard to gauge their true form coming into Saturdays match, while our 3s saw off Dumfries in a tight 2-1 victory.

Hillhead 4s vs Clydesdale 4s – 3.30pm @ Old Anniesland (Sand) – West District Division 2

The 4s are flying high at the top of West District 2 having scored 67 goals and conceded just 6 in 14 matches.  When these two sides met back in October at Titwood the 4s secured a phenomenal 7-0 victory with Stephen Frame scoring a hattrick. The 4s are able to call on the experienced Stuart McGregor at the back while Jamie Gillies continues to get goals upfront.

The 5-0 thumping of Kelburne 5s last weekend means that spirits are high ahead of another Glasgow Derby for Gordon Macintyre-Kemp’s side.

Hillhead 5s vs Rottenrow 2s – 12.30pm @ Old Anniesland (Sand) – West District Division 2

The 5s face Rottenrow 2s who come into this match off back to back wins. The 5s meanwhile had a tough time last weekend eventually losing to Giffnock 1s 2-0 despite an excellent first half showing. Findlay Currie’s side have made significant progress as the season has progressed and the experience of Keith Joss should help on Saturday.

The last time the 5s faced Rottenrow it was in a very close match at Glasgow Green, small improvements all over the pitch could see the Hornets collect three points this weekend.

Hillhead 6s vs Clydesdale 5s – 12pm @ Titwood – West District 3

In the earliest of Saturday’s matches the 6s travel to Titwood to take on Clydesdale 5s. The two sides are currently separated by 8 points and the last time they met Hillhead ran out 8-0 winners. The 6s have been desperate to get their season underway following earlier postponements and exciting talents such as Ronan McGeoch and Robert Hamilton will be keen to get on the scoresheet.
